Cloud Services in Abu Dhabi

Cloud migration, Microsoft 365 and backup for Abu Dhabi government, energy and enterprise, from engineers based on Salam Street, same-day on-site.

Overview

Cloud services in Abu Dhabi sit inside a distinct operating environment. Government entities, government-adjacent organisations, the energy sector and large enterprise in the capital all carry residency, classification and sector-compliance requirements that shape every cloud engagement from the first architecture decision. UAE data residency is not optional for most of the Abu Dhabi client base. It is a structural requirement, met through UAE-resident regions and UAE-hosted private or hybrid cloud where the workload demands it.

IP Care delivers cloud services from our headquarters on Salam Street in Abu Dhabi. Our engineers are based in the capital, when a migration cutover, an M365 configuration issue or a backup restore is needed on-site, we are across town, not across a time zone. That distinction matters in the sector mix Abu Dhabi presents.

This page covers cloud services we deliver to clients in Abu Dhabi specifically. For the broader UAE-wide view, our main cloud services page covers the full scope.

— What Abu Dhabi-based clients typically need from cloud —

Three categories of cloud engagement come up most consistently.

Cloud migration with UAE residency. Government entities and large enterprise in Abu Dhabi typically migrate to UAE-resident cloud regions. The major platforms provide UAE data residency for workloads with NESA, UAE PDPL or sector-specific requirements. The migration engagement starts with a workload assessment and 6R classification, maps residency requirements to the correct region per workload, designs the landing zone with NESA-aware identity and access controls, and migrates in defined waves with tested rollback at each cutover.

Microsoft 365. Most Abu Dhabi government and enterprise organisations run Exchange Online and the M365 collaboration stack. M365 tenants in this sector almost always arrive with default security configurations, MFA not enforced, Conditional Access not configured, no third-party backup in place. We harden, configure and manage the full M365 estate: Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Defender for Microsoft 365 and the third-party backup layer that M365 does not provide natively.

Backup and disaster recovery. Abu Dhabi organisations with UAE PDPL or sector data-residency requirements need backup and DR infrastructure that keeps every copy, primary and replica, inside the UAE. We deploy Veeam and Acronis across the on-premise estate, add third-party M365 backup, design immutable storage to protect against ransomware, and provision UAE-hosted DRaaS with defined recovery time objectives. Restore tests are scheduled and results documented, not assumed.

— NESA-aware and UAE PDPL —

NESA and UAE PDPL compliance shape cloud architecture for a significant proportion of the Abu Dhabi client base. We integrate NESA controls into the landing-zone design from day one: identity and access management, audit logging, data classification labels, DLP, encryption at rest and in transit, and network segmentation. UAE PDPL data-subject requirements are mapped at the assessment stage and enforced in the landing zone policy. For clients already in a NESA compliance programme, the cloud engagement runs in parallel with the compliance cycle to maintain control continuity through the migration.

— Why Abu Dhabi-based clients engage us for cloud —

Four reasons come up consistently. Local headquarters on Salam Street, cloud engineers physically based in Abu Dhabi, on-site when the engagement requires it, without travel overhead or subcontracting. UAE data residency as standard practice, UAE-resident regions and UAE-hosted options are operationally familiar, not arrangements we make for the first time. NESA and UAE PDPL integration across cloud engagements, not a retrofit, not a separate workstream. Cross-portfolio depth. The same team that manages your infrastructure, M365 and backup is the team handling your cloud migration.

Capabilities

What's Included

Cloud Migration

Workload assessment, 6R classification, landing-zone design and wave-based migration to a UAE-resident region or UAE-hosted private cloud, with UAE data residency enforced per workload.

Microsoft 365

Tenant migration, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, MFA enforcement, Conditional Access, Defender for Microsoft 365 and third-party backup, security-hardened from day one.

Backup & Disaster Recovery

Veeam and Acronis across the on-premise estate, M365 backup, immutable storage and UAE-hosted DRaaS with defined RTOs and scheduled restore tests.

NESA-Aware Landing Zone

Identity, audit logging, classification labels, DLP, encryption and segmentation configured to NESA controls in the landing zone, not bolted on after migration.

UAE PDPL Compliance

Data-subject requirements mapped at assessment stage and enforced in landing-zone policy, residency, access and audit controls in place before workloads land.

Managed Cloud Operations

Why IP Care

What Sets Us Apart

Based on Salam Street
Our engineers are headquartered in Abu Dhabi, on-site across the capital when the engagement requires it, same-day, no subcontracting.
UAE data residency as standard
UAE-resident regions and UAE-hosted options are operationally familiar, residency enforced in the landing zone from day one.
NESA-aware across every engagement
NESA and UAE PDPL controls integrated into the cloud architecture from the assessment phase, not a retrofit after the migration completes.
Government, energy and enterprise depth
Abu Dhabi sector experience compounds across cloud engagements. The classification, residency and compliance overlay is operationally familiar.
Cross-portfolio, single vendor
Cloud, infrastructure, M365, backup and managed IT delivered under one engagement model. No coordination overhead between separate contractors.
UAE delivery since 2003
Two decades of enterprise IT delivery from Abu Dhabi. The track record matters when the migration cutover is at 2 am.

Questions & Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Can our data stay in the UAE after migration?

Yes, and for most Abu Dhabi government, energy and regulated enterprise clients, it must. The major cloud platforms offer UAE-resident regions for data residency. We classify every workload against residency requirements at the assessment stage and configure the landing zone to enforce residency policy automatically, so the data-residency position is documented and verifiable, not assumed.

How do you handle NESA compliance during a cloud migration?

NESA controls are integrated into the landing-zone design from day one rather than retrofitted after the migration completes. Identity and access management, audit logging, data classification labels, DLP, encryption at rest and in transit, and network segmentation are all configured to NESA controls in the landing-zone reference. Workloads land on a NESA-aware foundation and the control parity is validated continuously through the migration programme.

Do you back up Microsoft 365?

Yes, and we recommend it on every M365 engagement. Microsoft does not back up your data; its recycle bin and version history are retention aids, not recovery tools. We deploy third-party backup covering Exchange mailboxes, SharePoint libraries, OneDrive and Teams on every M365 tenant we manage, with restore tests run and documented on a schedule.

What cloud platforms do you work with?

We deliver across Microsoft Azure, AWS and Google Cloud. For Abu Dhabi clients with UAE data residency requirements, UAE-resident regions are available across all major platforms. Platform choice is driven by your workload profile, existing vendor relationships and residency requirements, not by which platform pays the highest margin to us.

Do you provide ongoing managed cloud services, or only project work?

Both. Project engagements, assessments, landing zones, migrations, M365 deployments, run on fixed-scope statements of work with deliverable-based milestones. Managed cloud services, cloud operations, M365 administration, backup monitoring, FinOps and cost management, run on monthly retainer pricing with defined SLA and scope. Most clients move from a project engagement into managed services once the migration is complete.
